The records in this collecton all relate to clergy, and include many files relating to the ordination of individual men (both religious and diocesan priests), and incardinations and excardinations, together with dimissorial letters for men ordained in the archdiocese from other dioceses and testimonial letters for men seeking to enter the religious life. Other series include Minutes of the Council of Priests and papers relating to the Junior Clergy Examinations. There are files of personal papers relating to deceased bishops and priests, some of which may contain little more than the orders of service for their funerals. Please note that these are not the personal files kept by the bishop on each priest, which remain part of the secret archive and are not deposited in the diocesan archives.
